Disaster Profiteering

The recent disaster in New Orleans has brought greedy business men to raise prices on gas, food, clothing and other necessities. Gas prices are not only effecting the gulf coast, they have effected the entire nation. My gas pump down the street is 3.10 a gallon and in Atlanta a gas station reported 5.57 per gallon! The entire nation might very well go up to that price unless we get the oil from the reserve, which the president, luckily, has announced, will happen. But it's not going to do enough. I think we need to have a restriction of price gouging, for the American people can not economically afford the consequences of the extreme gas prices. Go hurry up and fill up your cars because soon it will not only be the Gulf States that are experiencing emergencies, it will be the entire nation.

note: we need to go to hydrogen!

Catagory 5 headed for Big Easy

Hurricane Katrina strengthened into a powerful Category Five hurricane overnight with sustained winds of 160 mph. The National Hurricane Center put out a special advisory on the hurricane's gain in strength just before 8 a.m. EDT. The boost came just hours after Katrina reached Category 4, with wind of 145 mph, as it gathered energy from the warm water of the Gulf of Mexico.

According to the National Hurricane Center, a Category Five hurricane causes storm surges generally greater than 18 ft above normal, complete roof failure on many residences and industrial buildings. All shrubs, trees, and signs are blown down. Severe and extensive window and door damage can occur. Low-lying escape routes are cut by rising water 3-5 hours before arrival of the center of the hurricane. Major damage to lower floors of all structures located less than 15 ft above sea level and within 500 yards of the shoreline occurs and massive evacuation of residential areas on low ground within 5-10 miles (8-16 km) of the shoreline may be required. This is especially essential in the New Orleans area where most of the city lies below sea level and exists with the help of levees and pumps. To date, only 3 Category Five Hurricanes have made landfall in the United States since records began.

New Rules

Check out Bill Maher's New Rules, one of the most most truthful books I have ever read. So get to the book store and pick it up, it's worth the laugh. The conservative Agenda: "Stop claiming it's an agenda. It's not an agenda. It's a random collection of laws that your corporate donors paid you to pass." - good one...

stop regressivism

here is how to stop regressivism. one, stop john roberts from being elected to the supreme court by the senate. nominee john roberts is a regressive extremist out to turn the nation into one with less and less freedoms. his agenda includes opposing roe vs. wade, favoring the national marriage amendment, favoring the fag burning amendment, favoring the usa patriot act, and many other right restricting amendments, bills and rulings. unless the senate votes against him the country may be see more and more similarities to a fascist state. two, stop the patriot act. giving up freedom for security is not acceptible. do not give up your rights for anything, not even security. so please, please, stop the patriot act now, and stop john roberts now.

listen to our founding fathers. they were some of the most brilliant people in the histroy of the untited states. they knew what is best for the nation, thats why they did what they did, and created the constitution and the bill of rights, and made sure our freedoms and liberty is protected and will never be sacraficed. here is a quote from one of those founding fathers, mabye the most famous of all.

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
- Benjamin Franklin

the evil evolutionists.

a new debate has brought a huge fiasco to blogs, network tv, newspapers, and magazines. well what is it? is it bush, the war, national health care, abortion? no it's evolution, the widely recognized factual 'theory'. most scientist have concluded that the origin of species must be by mutation and natural selection - evolution. but a few, most notably the ones from the discovery institute think otherwise. these few scientist actually think that 'intelligent design' might have some scientific fact. wow, that sounds great right? prove god is out there? well actually they have no evidence, they have not gone through the scientific process, so what makes anyone think that any science teacher will teach it? well it must be because a few religious extremists that actually think that separation of church and state is a bad idea. well it's not, it's a very good idea, and that’s why our founding fathers created it. and on top of all that, evolution does not prove christianity wrong, all it does is simply explain on god could have created the earth. even the catholic church has recognized this as a possible explanation. man has searched for explanation to all sorts of question about world we live in, and we all have to recognize the difference between science and faith. i mean hey, what about the church burning people for believing the earth was not at the center of the universe?

the role of our president.

i read this from another blog. it is a quote from one of our best and most famous presidents.

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

- Theodore Roosevelt

welcome.

welcome to my personal thoughts on the world. here i will post my views on politics and other current events and how they effect me. my blog will but emphases on how america has become ignorant and apathetic to current affairs which affects the world more that one may think. i believe that everyone should be a free thinker and have the freedom to express there thoughts in a peaceful way without being censored. i believe everyone should have the freedom and should be encouraged to question the government because with out free thinking democracy can not work. i just want to inform the few people that read this on my views, feel free to email me, i am very open to constructive criticism of any kind.

thank you,
